NF HOUSE
Padang Galak, Bali.
___

House | 460 sqm | On Going

Situated on a flat narrow site, the building designed by composing slim rectangular masses. The masses placed on site efficiently to spare a generous lawn at one end of the site for functional outdoor purposes. The zoning defined clearly by separating public area at ground floor and the bedrooms at upper floor. This separation visually reflected strongly on the architecture by contrasting the masses expression, brick box downstairs and white box upstairs.

The contrast expression between brick and white resembles a juxtaposition between vernacular and minimalism style. Vernacular style defined by brick cladding which is the most common material in Bali, treated with its cornice ornamentation just like the original vernacular houses. Whereas the minimalism style defined by a simple, clean, white box without any ornamentation. By doing that, the building is intended to sculpt client's vision of modern - practical way of living yet still represent where the building stands.
